Office 365?

I am often asked what is Office 365 and do we need it? The short answer is that it’s a subscription based service that can provide email, the Office suite and many other cloud services for your business.

There are many different options when it comes to Microsoft’s Office 365 offering, and it can get very confusing when it comes to choosing what’s right for you. The most popular choice is Business Premium which includes the Office suite, but also provides the email and calendaring service that is hosted in the Microsoft cloud.

The reason Office 365 becomes attractive to so many businesses is many. It is an extremely reliable service that you do not have to administer. Gone are the days of hosting your own email server. It comes with many applications that can replace others that you currently use. For instance, OneDrive for Business is a file storage service that behaves similar to Dropbox. Skype for Business is an instant messaging application that you can use to chat with your employees, or your customers. All the different 365 services are configurable so you can control the environment your employees are operating in. Updates are performed in the background, so you don’t experience any downtime and new services are always being introduced.
