I wanted to start a series on some useful Microsoft apps that you may not have heard of. The first app we will cover is Microsoft Lens. For those of us who like to go paperless, you will find this app appealing.
Office Lens turns your smartphone or tablet into a pocket scanner and integrates with Office 365. Use it to take pictures of receipts, business cards, documents, whiteboards or sticky notes. Office Lens will crop, enhance and save your captures to OneNote. Some other capabilities include:
- Using optical character recognition (OCR) it identifies printed text so that you can search by keyword for the image in OneNote or OneDrive.
- Converts images of paper documents and whiteboard notes into Word documents, PowerPoint presentations and PDF files for easy editing and reformatting.
- Captures business cards and generates contacts you can add to your phone.
- Inserts images to OneNote or OneDrive (as DOCX, PPTX, JPG or PDF format) and gives you options to save, export and share the image.
Office 365 integration
All the scanned images you capture from Office Lens are accessible on all your devices. Office Lens allows users to convert your scanned files to other file formats to work with Microsoft Office 365 apps.
Office 365 has many productivity apps and capabilities. Give us a call if you are interested in how using Office 365 can improve your business processes.
